The Grind Training Center is all about striving for excellence! Our fully turfed 20,000 sq. ft. facility is well known throughout the community. We are a premier location for Oklahoma's baseball and softball players and athletes of all sports in need of an indoor training facility.

Here at the Grind we look to better ourselves day in and day out, we are a family here, our connection to our athletes and families means everything to us and every day we pour our love for sports that we have into that connection. Our trainers are seasoned and experienced, they bring positive attitudes along with years of knowledge and information.

We are entirely focused on developing young athletes and guiding them to the next level. Come experience it for yourself! Dive into some private trainings, fun group camps, and clinics and see what we love to do inside of these brick walls.

All together our staff has tons of unique and rich experiences as players and coaches. Our core leadership has been here training for over 12 years and brings college, professional MLB and Olympic experience to the environment. Here, we do it all! From speed and agility to hitting, catching, pitching, soccer, and mental toughness training.

  • 6 years coaching/player development at Showcase level.

Chris has had an outstanding baseball career. He has been named All American 3 times. Chris played in the Pan-American games in Havana, Cuba in 1991, helping the USA team to bring home a Bronze Medal. Chris played in 1992 Olympics in Barcelona, Spain and drafted by the San Francisco Giants. While playing for the MLB, he played 6 different positions (2B, 3B, SS, LF, CF, and RF) and for four different teams (San Francisco Giants, St. Louis Cardinals, Chicago Cubs, and Pittsburgh Pirates). Chris has been named in the Wichita Sports Hall of Fame, Kansas Sports Hall of Fame, and Wichita State Hall of Fame.

Shane brings more than 30 years of coaching experience to THE GRIND.  After college he began his coaching career as the infield and hitting coach in college for 4 years. He the went on to coach at his alma matter  Westmont High School in California, where he stayed for two years and compiled an impressive 62-5 record.

He has coached at all levels in baseball and  softball. He has worked with players in baseball and softball from Tee-Ball all the way to Div-1 level and  the Major leagues. He has worked with more then 300 players who have gone onto college over his career.

North Yosemite League Player of the Year in High School and all Central California First Team. After High School, Coach Stoll went on to play at powerhouse Chabot Junior College in California and was a part of a state runner up team in the huge California baseball market. Stoll went on to play for Dodge City A’s and the Wellington Heat in the summer Jay Hawk League and he was proud to make it to the NBC World Series playing for both teams!

Stoll finished his collegiate playing career pitching a Southwestern Christian University where he was part of back to back “NCCAA World Series teams as a pitcher. In his hey days, he threw in the mid-90’s.Coach Stoll is currently the Assistant Varsity coach for Putnam City North High School and Wellington Heat summer collegiate league. Coach Stoll brings a wealth of playing and coaching experience to the Grind family and is ready to get going with our players. 

Anton Shinhoster

Sports: Baseball/Softball

Positions: Hitting/ Fielding/ Pitching


  • 14 Years of coaching experience
  • Division 1 College Baseball Player
  • 1st team all SWAC

Anton has been with The Grind since the facility opened its doors. He played baseball in college as a left fielder at Jackson State University, where he helped lead his team to three SWAC tournament appearances. In 2005 he was named First-Team All-SWAC and was selected for the Elite Team. That year Anton was also nationally ranked in triples per game(10th), runs batted in per game(18th), and runs per game(20th). In 2006, he was named to the All-SWAC preseason team. After his playing career ended he served as an assistant baseball coach at JSU, where he graduated cum laude in 2006 with a degree in mass communications and completed a master’s degree in business administration in 2009.

Coach Johnston has quickly made his mark around The Grind Training Center, brining with him an abundant knowledge of the game and a positive attitude everyday to help others. Coach Johnston is currently a senior baseball player at Southwestern Christian University who has thrown over +300 innings in his college career. Coach Johnston is currently the 10u coach for your SWAT Rebels and has done a remarkable job improving each player. Coach Johnston offers pitching and batting lessons at The Grind Training center and is open to new clients

  • Has Played since age 4.

  • Played for Classed High School.

  • Played for Bacone College.

  • Coached for 5 years.

  • Former OKCPS single season strikeout record holder for pitching.

  • 3 time OKCPS All-City 1st team.

Edwin played 1st, 2nd, Outfield, and Catcher while in High School while also starting all 4 years. Junior year he was named head captain of the team in the fall and kept the title until he graduated. Edwin signed with Bacone College after graduation as a 2 way player. In the fall of his freshman year, he switched to a pitcher only role and primarily came out of the bullpen until ultimately becoming the closer. Edwin finished the year with 17 saves out of 21 attempts, while posting a 2.63 era. His pitches featured 4 variations of the Fastball, a change-up, and a breaking ball.

Perri Earnest

Lessons: Pitching, catching, hitting, fielding, running/speed

Years of Experience: Playing - 13 Coaching - 4+

Positions Played: Catcher, pitcher, outfield, second base

Coaching Style: I coach by describing the goal of our movements, showing examples, and incorporating exercises that help players feel what is correct.

Goal with athletes: Leave them with a good physical and mental understanding of the game. Boost their mindset and walk away with a clear understanding of how to improve through the week.

Jarod Beres

Sport: Baseball

Positions: Catching

Jarod comes to us from Southwestern Christian University where he currently plays Catcher and Infield. Jarod is stellar behind the dish and at the plate. Last year Jarod threw out 36% of would be base stealers and offensively slashed .292/.494/.380 with 8 HR and 42 RBI's.
