The Grind Training Center is all about striving for excellence! Our fully turfed 20,000 sq. ft. facility is well known throughout the community. We are a premier location for Oklahoma's baseball and softball players and athletes of all sports in need of an indoor training facility.
Here at the Grind we look to better ourselves day in and day out, we are a family here, our connection to our athletes and families means everything to us and every day we pour our love for sports that we have into that connection. Our trainers are seasoned and experienced, they bring positive attitudes along with years of knowledge and information.

Chris has had an outstanding baseball career. He has been named an All-American 3 times. He also played in the Pan-American games in Havana, Cuba in 1991, helping the USA team to bring home a Bronze Medal. Following that, Chris played in 1992 Olympics in Barcelona, Spain and was drafted by the San Francisco Giants in the same year. While playing for the MLB, he played 6 different positions 2B, 3B, SS, LF, CF, and RF and for four different teams San Francisco Giants, St. Louis Cardinals, Chicago Cubs, and Pittsburgh Pirates. Chris has been named in the Wichita Sports Hall of Fame, Kansas Sports Hall of Fame, and Wichita State Hall of Fame.

Shane brings more than 30 years of coaching experience to The Grind. After college he began his coaching career as the infield and hitting coach at New Mexico Junior College and De Anza College. He then went on to coach at his alma matter Westmont High School in California, where he stayed for two years and compiled an impressive 62-5 record.
He has coached at all levels in baseball and softball. He has worked with players in baseball and softball from tee-ball all the way to the Division l level and the Major leagues. He has worked with 300+ players who have gone onto college over his career.

Anton has been with The Grind since the facility opened its doors. He played baseball in college as a left fielder at Jackson State University, where he helped lead his team to three SWAC tournament appearances. In 2005 he was named First-Team All-SWAC and was selected for the Blackcollegbaseball.com Elite Team. That year Anton was also nationally ranked 10th in triples per game, 18th in runs batted in per game, and 20th in runs per game. In 2006, he was named to the All-SWAC preseason team. After his playing career ended he served as an assistant baseball coach at Jackson State University, where he graduated cum laude in 2006 with a degree in mass communications and following completed his Master’s degree in business administration in 2009.

A former 4-year collegiate starter at shortstop, third base, and second base, Leon brings over 30 years of experience in baseball and softball instruction. His playing career includes standout honors such as Freshman of the Year at Marymount College (NAIA – KS), Newcomer of the Year at Cloud County Community College (Region VI JUCO – KS), and All-District recognition at Benedictine College (NAIA District 10 – KS).
Leon has spent the last 10 years coaching varsity baseball at Bishop McGuinness Catholic High School and has dedicated more than three decades to private training and player development, working with athletes of all ages. With deep roots in the game and a passion for helping players reach their potential, Leon offers a wealth of experience, knowledge, and mentorship to every athlete he coaches.

Mickey Tettleton is a former Major League Baseball catcher who played for the Oakland Athletics, Baltimore Orioles, Detroit Tigers, and Texas Rangers. A standout at Oklahoma State University, Tettleton went on to enjoy a highly successful MLB career spanning over a decade.
He was a two-time All-Star and earned three Silver Slugger Awards for his offensive performance behind the plate. At the time of his retirement, he ranked 8th all-time in home runs by a switch-hitter. Known for his keen eye at the plate, Tettleton posted a career .369 on-base percentage, which ranked 10th all-time among MLB catchers.

Edwin, a four year starter at his high school, played 1st, 2nd, outfield, and catcher. In the fall of his Junior year he was named head captain of the team and kept the title until he graduated. Edwin signed with Bacone College after graduation as a 2 way player. In the fall of his freshman year, he switched to a pitcher only role and primarily came out of the bullpen until ultimately becoming the closer. Edwin finished the year with 17 saves out of 21 attempts, while posting a 2.63 era. His pitches featured 4 variations of the Fastball, a change-up, and a breaking ball.

Paige Sechrist is a junior at Bethany High School and a three-year varsity starter in fastpitch softball. Known for her discipline, strong fundamentals, and strategic approach to the game, Paige was ranked 10th in Oklahoma for fewest walks allowed during the 2024 season—a testament to her control and consistency on the mound.
She is also a proud member of the Oklahoma Athletics, where she continues to develop her skills and compete at a high level.

Kevin Hunt brings over 20 years of experience in developing athletes to reach their peak performance, both physically and mentally. With a diverse background—born in Midwest City and raised in Germany and Georgia—Kevin brings a unique perspective to training, blending discipline, culture, and performance science.
A former collegiate track & field athlete at Eastern New Mexico University, Kevin earned his B.S. in Health & Physical Education and has since become an ACE Certified Personal Trainer, Group Instructor, and Fitness Nutritionist.
He specializes in strength and conditioning, with a focus on speed, power, injury prevention, and sport-specific training. Kevin is dedicated to helping athletes of all levels build the foundation they need to compete at their best.

Preston Easley brings over 16 years of experience as both a player and coach in the game of baseball. A standout at Destiny Christian High School, Preston earned MVP honors, was a State Champion, and a three-time All-State selection. His playing career included national competition, advancing to the second-round trials for Team USA in California, and continuing at Oklahoma City University before transitioning into coaching.
Preston now specializes in pitching, fielding, and hitting instruction for athletes at all levels. Known for his emphasis on fundamentals, confidence, and game strategy, he is passionate about mentoring and shaping well-rounded athletes both on and off the field.
